Eric and Donna are organizing a race on May 8 to benefit the Adamant Music School. It will be a 20 mile run or 25 mile bike tour on the scenic dirt roads around Adamant. The race should attract many participants who are training for a spring marathon such as the Vermont City Marathon, but the non-competitive ride should attract athletes who prefer participation and scenery. The run/ride will go over hills, along the Pekin Branch Creek and pass by 5 ponds. It is a beautiful time of year to share Adamant Music School’s flowers and waterfalls.
The race will be part of the Central Vermont Runners calendar, so CVR will be providing equipment, insurance and volunteers. Information and race results will be on CVR's website. The Adamant Coop and local community are sponsoring the race, helping out with food and volunteers to show their appreciation of the School’s positive impact on the community.
It will be a fun event run out of Barney Hall. The facilities are great for putting on an event such as this. The dining hall and kitchen will be used for registration and post race refreshments. Having bathrooms and showers available is a huge advantage for an athletic event--it’s much better than having porta-potties outside. Rooms will be available at the Quarry House for out of town participants. Everyone is welcome to support the school by participating as a runner, rider or volunteer. The event will start at 10 a.m. on May 8. Pre-registration is $20 and race day sign up is $25. Full information on the race is available at www.cvrunners.org where you can download a race application. Or, for more information, call Eric at 802-223-2733.
