60 Years of Adamant In 2002, the Adamant Music School celebrated its 60th Anniversary. This event was commemorated with a number of special events. The annual concert at Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie Hall) featured performers from many decades of the School's history, as well as readings from the writings of the School's founders.

Letters of congratulations were received from the Vermont Senate delegation and the Governor, and a resolution was passed in the Vermont Legislature. Sponsored by State Senator William Doyle, the resolution read in part, QUOTE FROM RESOLUTION: Whereas, the School has become an important archive for the region, preserving photographs and documents illustrating the history of the Village of Adamant, and Whereas, the School serves as a model for cooperative living and government by consensus, and Whereas, the Adamant Music School is an active supporter of the local economy both through the business it brings in with its various events and its commitment to using local vendors and services, and Whereas, the Adamant Music School has become a multi-disciplinary cultural center offering music, theater and visual arts presentations as part of its annual session, now therefore be it Resolved by the Senate of the State of Vermont: That the Senate congratulates the Adamant Music School on the occasion of its 60th Anniversary. To trace its history, Frank Suchomel, the president of the Adamant Music School, wrote a small book outlining the many changes and events the School has seen over 60 years. This book, "60 Years of Piano, Art and Life," is available for sale. 60th Anniversary Items To honor the School's 60th Anniversary, we have created some new materials about the School. These are interesting items that, as an Adamant supporter, you may wish to purchase. All proceeds, of course, return to the School. In 2001 we had a local illustrator draw a new map of the School's grounds. We were so delighted with his work that we had it made up into a poster, suitable for framing, as well as t-shirts.
